1. In short
- We use only cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in to your Datavey account.
- Browsing datavey.com and joining the waitlist does not set any of our cookies.
- Our analytics do not use cookies, and we use no advertising or tracking cookies of any kind.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are only set when you sign in to a Datavey account at app.datavey.com. They are set by our sign-in service at api.datavey.com for the datavey.com domain, so that you stay signed in across our sites.
| Cookie | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
__Secure-datavey.session_token | Keeps you signed in to your account. It holds a random, signed session identifier and nothing else about you. | 7 days, or until you sign out. |
__Secure-datavey.dont_remember | Only set if you untick “remember me” when signing in. It makes sure your session ends when you close your browser. | Until you close your browser. |
Both cookies are marked Secure and HttpOnly, which means they are only sent over encrypted connections and cannot be read by scripts running in the page.
3. Analytics without cookies
We use Umami, which we host on our own servers in Germany, to count page views. Umami does not set cookies, does not use your browser's local storage and does not store your IP address. It cannot recognise you between visits or follow you to other websites. It also respects your browser's “Do Not Track” setting. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.
4. The security check on our forms
Our waitlist forms and sign-in pages use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is filling them in. The check runs inside a frame served from Cloudflare's own domain, challenges.cloudflare.com, not from datavey.com. While it runs, Cloudflare may store a small amount of information in your browser for that domain, solely to tell people apart from bots and to protect the form. It is not used for advertising or to track you across websites. This is strictly necessary to provide the form securely. More detail is in Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
5. Why there is no cookie banner
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), websites must ask for consent before storing information on your device, except where it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. The sign-in cookies and the security check above fall within that exemption, and our analytics store nothing on your device. As we use no other cookies, we do not need to ask for your consent, so we do not show a cookie banner.
If we ever add cookies that need your consent, we will ask for it first and update this notice.
6. Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookies, you will not be able to stay signed in to a Datavey account, but you can still browse datavey.com and join the waitlist.
7. Changes and contact
If we change the cookies we use, we will update this notice and its version number. Questions about cookies can be sent to [email protected]. Datavey is operated by Kyros Software Ltd, company number 16915277.
